Changes . . .

You know it's been far too long since you've posted when you almost can't remember where you need to go to create a new blog entry! No, I have not fallen off the face of the earth. I just have not taken time to update.

In November of 2007, I met a family in need of a nanny. They were due with a baby girl in December and had another daughter, Kaitlyn, who was 7. I started babysitting in February to get to know their family better. Through much prayer and my parent's encouragement, I began working as a nanny in April of 2008.  I work 4 days a week 8-5 ish.

It has over a year since I started nannying. I absolutely love my "job!" Kallie is a happy baby and is developing more of a personality as each day passes (she's also really cute!). On December 17 she celebrated her 1st birthday! I don't know how long the Lord will have me here, but I am enjoying every minute while I can!

I love to take pictures of Kallie. However, I take far too many to just post on here all at once. If you're interested in seeing more pics than the one below let me know.

On June 7, 2008 our family moved about 45 minutes from our old place. It used to take me 7 minutes to get to work . . . now it takes about 40. But it's still worth it. Our new place is beautiful and a blessing from God. If you don't have our new contact info and would like it, please let me know.

Many of you may remember that I had surgery to remove a tumor from my thyroid. This past January, I had my annual ultrasound and bloodwork. Everything looks great! There is still no sign of anything wrong. On August 22 of this year it will have been three years. Praise God from Whom all blessings flow!

I'm tired and need to head to bed soon, so I will close for now.

For those of you who are wondering...

Yes, I did take these pictures. They were taken when we were at family camp this past weekend. I set up my tripod and used my Nikon D200 and 70-300 lens. That picture of the stars may have been taken with my 28-80mm lens (I can't remember which lens I used for that picture).

Genesis 1:16
And God made two great lights; the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night: he made the stars also.

Psalm 136:9
The moon and stars to rule by night: for his mercy endureth for ever.

Psalm 148:3
Praise ye him, sun and moon: praise him, all ye stars of light.

DSC_1865-1

This first picture of the stars is pointed at the north star. It's much easier to see when it's enlarged but the brightest star in the picture is the North Star, Polaris. It's the one nearest to the middle of the pic.

On this next picture, I zoomed out quite a bit but it's still pointed at the North Star. You can now see the constellation, Ursa Minor. Otherwise known as the little dipper. The last two pictures I cropped and edited so you can see it better.

Hey all!

I'm leaving tomorrow morning to counsel at camp. Please be praying that God will do a mighty work among the campers. We are already expecting over 200 campers; this will be the biggest group of kids since 2000!

Please also be praying for us counselors that we will have wisdom, stay healthy, and be the kind of leaders that would honor and glorify God.

God bless you all. Thanks for praying!

~Rachel~
